ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful piece! I've watched most of your videos and truly love your art. I appreciate that you share so much with the public. I've taken great inspiration and ideas from them. I do have a question. You used matte medium to lay down the digital collage, and soft gel medium to lay down the ledger papers. I would like to know why you used different mediums. Is it due to the type of paper or personal preference or different texture? I'm just trying to learn and that made me wonder. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you Dena. I used matt medium for the digital collage sheets firstly because the paper is lighter weight, and secondly because it does not smudge the inkjet ink as easily as when using a thicker medium which tends to grag the ink with it when being applied. I switched the gel medium however for the ledger papers because they are heavier and need a stronger adhesive. Matt medium will provide a better surface texture for accepting additional paint or colour which is something I also consider when choosing which medium will work best for a specific job. Hope that helps :-)
