Collage - Masquerade

Produced using scrap papers, digital collage images, stencils, stamps & ink.  The main colours used were Quinacridone Magenta and Phthalo Blue (GS), but this was over a background that had mulitple colours on it to begin with.  I also sprayed some yellow colour wash over it in a couple of places, but most of that faded away once more layers were added.

Postcard - We All Fly At our Own Height

Created for the Sunday Postcard Art Challenge where the theme is Hot Air Balloons.  The card uses golden paints on the background (teal & green gold) and Ranger dabbers for everything else (Raspberry, Sunshine yellow, Orange, Red pepper). The hot air balloons are die cuts which I painted with the dabbers, and the clouds were cut from scrapbook paper.  The birds were added using a Crafter's Workshop stencil.

Sketch - Whimsy Frog

Very quick sketch inspired by Dede's stream http://www.ustream.tv/channel/inkwell a few weeks back.  The background uses Dylusions Colour Wash Sprays, the frog was sketched over these and coloured with just 2 Neo Colours (Ice Blue & Golden yellow) - The rest of the colouring came from the background as it interacted with the Neos.  Next time I try this technique, I will use watercolour paper instead of the cheap sketch paper I had to hand.  The sketch (cartridge paper) made the Neos hard to blend, and they also bled out of the lines.  He only took about 15mins to do, so I still kind of like him as a little practice piece.

Art Canvas - Pin Wheel Flowers

This was created on watercolour board.  I used Dylusions spray in Teal and Ranger spray in Butterscotch.  I sketched and coloured the Pinwheeel Flowers using Cathothello Pastel Pencils, then masked them to stamp a script (Darkroom Door) in the background, and added some white acrylic circles by dipping the lid of the colour wash spray into the paint and using it as a stamp.

Art Tag - Watercolour Flowers

Created using a size 8 manila tag.  The stamped image (B-Line) was painted using Winsor & Newton Pan Watercolours.  The background uses Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress inks, and a script stamp by Prima. The tiny floating seed heads in the background are from a stamp set by Crafty Secrets.

Art Postcard - Folk Houses

Decided to play with my Carbothello Pastel Pencils today and doodled this little postcard.  I've not had chance to really test them out since I bought them, and I'm very impressed - the same pigmentation as Pan Pastels, but in a  pencil.  I sketched and coloured the folk art scene with the pastels, then once I'd finished with them, I added some stamping with Archival ink, and some stenciling with white acrylic paint.  I sprayed fixative onto it, then doodled over everything with black and white pens.

Art Tag - Summer Flowers

Made using a background paper sent to me in a swap by Dede (inkwell) and created by Julia (Straydreams).  I stamped the paper using archival Blue-Violet with a script, then used texture paste through a Crafter's Workshop stencil.  Once dry, I sponged burgundy Lumiere paint around the stenciled images, and wiped it back so that it left just an outline.  I distressed the edges and coloured these with the same Burgundy paint.   I then painted the images with Lumiere Pearl White.  Finally, I added some Golden Brand acrylic in Nickel-Azo Gold to add some warmth, punched a hole and added fibres to match.

Art Postcard - Under The Sea

Created using the inky background shown below.  I added some Cheery Lynn Die cuts, Wild Orchid Craft Pearl sprays, texture paste, tulle netting and Lumiere paints (Blue-Green, violet Gold & Indigo).  The image was stamped onto newsprint and adhered with semi-gloss gel medium.  It was painted with Lumieres and Cosmic shimmer spray, then highlighted with a white Posca pan in places.

Inky Background

Playing with a mixture of Dylusions sprays & Cosmic shimmer along with kitchen towel and tissue paper.  Just waiting for it to dry before making something with it.

Art Tag - Precious

Created using a background paper sent to me in a swap by Dede (Inkwell) and produced by Dar (Artedar).
I used Moonglow embossing powder to emboss the Precious stamp (Heidi Swapp), aswell as the background stamps: distressed lines (Darkroom Door), ink splatter (Tim Holtz).  The edge of the tag was distressed and embossed too.  The flowers were die cut from foil card, embossed and alcohol inked to match the magenta colour in the background.  The centres are brads from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I stamped some hearts in Archival black to add more interest and outlined these in black and white pens to match the text which I had also scribbled some pen work around..

Art Tag - Gorjuss Girl

Playing with a new Gorjuss stamp, and new Promarkers.  Background is distress inked using Frayed Burlap.  The tree and the hearts stamp are by Stampotique. The crackle stamp is by Stampin' Up.  Edge is doodled in a black pen.

Ink Pad Storage

I made these 2 storage units from chipboard after watching SaCrafters video on YT.  They turned out pretty sturdy, though might need some reinforcement between each pad to stop them warping.  It was a fun project and they store all 36 of the Distress colours (excluding the seasonal releases).
They are both coloured with Distress Inks and stamped with Tim Holtz stamps.
This is the back of the unit to show the stamping.

Abstract Canvas

This started out as a background paper sent in a swap to me by Dede (inkwell), and made by Lorri (Artivity).  I used lumiere and Golden paints over the background and added some texture to it.  I then adhered the paper to chipboard as I was originally going to make it into a tag, but then liked it so much, I decided to glue it onto a canvas and keep it as it was. The texture was made from art bits I'd normally put straight in the bin. Anyone want to guess what it is???

Postcard - Warm Colours

Created using Dylusions sprays, stencils and stamping.  The hearts are from Paperbag studios and were stamped onto newsprint before applying to the background so that they would stand out more, same with the sketchy circles.  I highlighted parts with black and white Posca paint pens.

Trees

I created this just playing around with stamps, acrylic paint and glass bead gel.  I haven't made it into anything yet, though it will probably end up as a tag or on a canvas.   I stamped the tree branches by Tim holtz in several places, then painted over the branches and added leaves using Americana Craft paints.  The flowers at the bottom are also a Tim Holtz stamp. I sponged the background with Distress Inks in Wild Honey, Tea Dye & Tumbled Glass and Victorian Velvet.  I also stamped a few ink splatters here and there, and painted on some pink and red flowers at the bottom.  Finally, I added glass bead gel to create texture on the trees, unfortunately the scanner does not pick up the effect very well.

ATC - Cherry Blossoms

Created whilst experimenting with Claudine Helmouth Gloss Multi-Medium as a resist.  I sponged the medium through a dreamweaver stencil, then, once dry, sponged ink over it in Aged Mahogany.  It came out quite cool looking with some texture and a gloss finish.  Will definitely use this technique again.  The stamp is a Prima tiny text stamp.  I added some Inca Gold in Tarnished silver to highlight the textured areas, then sprayed it with a bit of Antique Gold Perfect Pearls Mist (Ranger) before mounting it onto black Bazzill cardstock.

ATC - Hearts

Created using up scraps.  The background was made using the same scrap of background as the transparency ATC below which was just sprayed with some Crafty Notions Sprays.  I added some texture paste hearts, coloured them with Archival ink, then added more sprays over the top.  The border is a TH die cut - also a scrap piece where I was testing alcohol inks over silver foil cardstock, but then never used it.  The stamp is a tiny script by Prima, stamped using Archiva Blue -Violet ink.  I added some guilding flakes (Crafty Notions) and some Inca gold to highlight the card in places.
