Altered Reed Diffuser Bottle

For this project, I started out with an empty reed diffuser bottle from Yankee Candle, and altered it with a variety of mediums and techniques.  The process is shown below on my You Tube channel.


Supplies:
Empty bottle - I used a Reed Diffuser Bottle from Yankee Candle
Tissue Paper - Plain and patterned
Soft Gel Medium
Clay mould - bestflexiblemolds.com
Premo clay by Sculpey - White
Tissue Blade
Glass board - For working with clay
Ceramic Tile - For Baking the clay embellishments on
Silks Acrylic Glazes: Key Lime, Mediterranean Blue, Majestic Blue
Lumiere Paint: Halo Blue Gold; Pearlescent White
Liquitex Basics Acrylic Paints: Cadmium Yellow, Naphthal Crimson, Raw Umber, Permanent Green Light, Brilliant Yellow Green
Golden Fluid Acrylic - Carbon Black, Paynes Grey

Prima Junkyard Findings - Rose Heart Corners

  2. I love it and have hunted for a bottle all day to alter. I have tried to order the rubber mould from best moulds and they don't ship to Uk can you suggest anywhere else x

    1. I'm sorry I don't know anywhere in the UK where you can buy the mould - I think I bought mine from Metal Clay Ltd, but I had a quick look on their website for you and they don't have it. They do have a coupple of others from the same company listed though, so you might be able to order through them.

  4. Very beautiful and original work. Thanks for sharing. Your premo clay is so soft, any hints - mine is quite firm?

    1. I use a pasta machine to condition my clay before use. Running it through the machine with soften it and make it much easier to work with. It also helps if your clay is fresh, so be sure to buy from a suplier that specialises in clay as they more likely to have a fast product turn around, rather than clay that's been sitting on a shelf for several months waiting to sell.
