Butterfly Tag Book

For this project I folded and cut a piece of plain white cardstock to create little pockets, and added tags and embellishments to it.  I used a range of distress inks to add colour,  and used stamps with butterfly / nature theme, which were mostly by Darkroom Door.  On the cover, I added some die cuts and a stamped sentiment, coloured with Distress inks to match the background.  Each of the tags were finished with some lace, and I added a small piece of satin ribbon for the closure.

Banner Project

This was part of a swap last year (as were many of my recent posts) with my friend Laurel.  I used Spellbinders dies to create the banner pennants, and a Sizzix alphabet for the letters.  Then embellished it with various laces, trims, flowers and pearls from my stash before pegging it to a length of seam binding.

Vintage Flowers

Handmade flowers made using plain circle dies, and an ornate circle die.  These were coloured with Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst Stains and Inktense pencils, then layered together before adding the centre embellishments. I was inspired by this tutorial for this project: Circle Blooms

Password Journal

This project was inspired by this You Tube Tutorial: Password Journal
I used 7-Gypsies paper, a Distress Inked die cut, trim and various trinkets & brads to embellish the cover.  I used my Dymo label machine for the text, and a Bind-It-All to bind the book together.

Altered Pencils

A really quick gift idea I found on the internet.  Regular pencils have been wrapped with scrapbook paper, then bound together also with scrapbook paper which was decorated with flowers and pearl trim.

Shrink Plastic Key Ring

Created using frosted Shrink Plastic.  I used a large Sizzix heart die to create the shape, and Distress Ink to add colour, then stamped using Archival inks.  The stamps are Stampin' Up, Tim Holtz and Stampotique.  After shrinking, metallic accents were added with acrylic paint.

Mini Book - Birds

Another gift item.  I used distress inks and various stamps to decorate the inside pages of the book, keeping the colour scheme shabby and vintage.  The covers were decorated using black fimo clay pieces and black UTEE, then coloured with Perfect Pearls.  A piece of seam binding was coloured for the closure.

Ornate Fan

I used a die by Marienne Designs to create the pieces of the fan, cut using white gold dust card stock, and pink Bazzill card stock.  I then decorated it with additional die cuts, marabou feathers, swarovski crystals, pearls & cameo embellishments.  The little stand shown on the last picture is also a die cut from Marienne Designs.

Watercolour Miniature

Created last year as a gift with various stamps and Marvy Le Plume pens using a watercolour technique, then framed.

Lavendar Sachet Bag

Created using fabric, trim and flowers from my stash, then filled with lavendar flowers.  This was inspired by this You Tube tutorial: Handmade No Sew Scented Sachet Bags , and was another gift item created for a swap.

Crystal Stick Pins & Pin Cushion

Another gift item.  I used an idea found on You Tube for this project.  Here's the link to the video that inspired me: How To Make A Pin Cushion  The base was an empty tin which was weighted with stone, then decorated with scrapbook paper, fabric, laces, trims, flowers, brads & crystals. The stick pins were created with beads and Swarovski crystals.

Altered Canvas Bag

This was part of a swap with my friend Laurel.  I used Adirondack Color Wash Sprays, Stewart Gill and Lumiere Paints, stencils and stamps, as well as a selection of laces and trims from my stash.
